Adidas is following in the footsteps of youth-savvy brands like Calvin Klein, who are turning to social media to cast campaign models. Its latest, titled “We the Future,” recruited over 15 emerging models, artists, and activists to pose for photographer Petra Collins. Names included Ralph Souffrant, whom W first spotted at Yeezy Season 3 and then again modeling for Gypsy Sport last season. Plus Simone “Slick Woods,” who made a splash at the CFDA Awards this year when she attended with Gypsy Sport designer Rio Uribe. Alexis Jae is also a rising fashion favorite for her bleach-blonde curly bangs — it’s hard to get any trendier than that. And then there’s Michael Bailey Gates, Alexandra Marzella, and Carlotta Kohl, who make up the young art world circle of the moment. We’re in the middle of a “chicken or the egg” moment where it’s hard to tell if someone is an Instagram stars first, model second, or simply a model with a great Instagram account. Either way, the creative kids of “We the Future” are ones to follow now before they hit the mainstream. See 15 of their profiles, below.
