Lil’ Kim Loves Beyoncé’s Lil’ Kim Costumes for Halloween
Halloween may have been four days ago, but the Internet still can’t get over Beyoncé’s iconic Lil’ Kim costumes, an homage that is now Lil’ Kim-approved. Beyoncé dressed as the iconic rapper in red hot pants and Chanel suspenders for a party with her husband Jay-Z, who went as Biggie, then later blessed all of our timelines by uploading pictures of herself in four more Lil’ Kim looks from her tours, photo shoots and appearances: with blue Chanel-branded bangs, in a satin dress and stole; in a “naked’ body suit; and wearing a neon lime green ensemble that can only be described as “she did that.”
Beyoncé (AKA Nala) uploaded pictures from the Halloween shoot to both her Instagram and her website on November 3, in an album titled “Halloween 2017: Lil’ Kim Appreciation” and the quote “Hip-ho would not be the same without our original Queen B.” Every picture is captioned “It ain’t over til Yonce.” No arguments there.
(The two posts did upset Bey’s perfect Instagram grid, but we’re certain that will be remedied shortly. Beyoncé is nothing if not attentive to detail.)
Later that night, Kim herself approved of the homage, posting a side-by-side comparison of their blue-haired looks to Twitter with the message “Lorrrrrddd, my wig is all the way in China!!! SLAYED ? You did that B! #beyonce #lilkim #tookusabreak #queenbee @Beyonce.”
The Knowles-Carter family has a history of doing Halloween right. Last year, they rocked two sets of costumes: Beyoncé, Blue Ivy and Beyoncé’s mother Ms. Tina Lawson went as Salt N Pepa, and then Beyoncé, Jay and Blue Ivy dressed up as Barbie, Ken and a little leather jacket girl. So far it looks like neither Blue Ivy nor twins Rumi and Sir were included in this year’s costume, though we can’t blame Blue if she finally got old enough to be like, “Mom, I understand that our family are all music legends, but I wanna be Moana!”
