Cara Delevingne, Supermodel Friends Become Latest Celebrities to Swoon Over Hamilton
What hasn’t seen Hamilton? Cara Delevingne, Adwoa Aboah, and Christian Siriano hadn’t until Saturday.
The paradox of Hamilton-mania is that sometimes its seems that just anyone who is anyone has already seen it, and yet it’s nearly impossible to get tickets. Everyone from Beyoncé to Tom Cruise to, uh, Vice President Mike Pence has been spotted taking in the show at the Richard Rodgers Theater in New York.
As it turns out however there’s still tons of VIPs who haven’t managed to score tickets, and there’s some comfort in knowing that even the elite had a hard time getting to see the country’s hottest Broadway show. On Saturday night a select group of the fashion world, including super models like Cara Delevingne, Adwoa Aboah, Hilary Rhoda, Coco Rocha, Sean O’Pry and Helena Christensen got to see the show thanks to American Express Platinum, and for many of them it was the first time.
Delevingne, who we spotted afterwards in a casual hoodie covering up her newly bobbed hair outside the after party at Diamond Horseshoe confirmed it was her first time seeing the show. “I really liked it,” she offered.
She had been holding court with Aboah, also a first time Hamilton goer, who was effusive with praise: “It was really well done. Really excellent. Just amazing.”
Of course, what else can one say about a play that’s already created so much hype.
“It was all about celebrating this amazing immigrant man who created such amazing things for our country,” added designer Christian Siriano, who we caught inside. “As a designer who super-celebrated diversity and women from other countries and culture it was nice to see the balance there.”
Diane Kruger, Zosia Mamet, Brad Goreski, Ebonee Davis, Shanon Purser of Stranger Things fame, and Regina King also made appearances though out the night, and Icona Pop was tasked with providing after party entertainment.
It was fitting, of course, that the Swedish duo performed their best known single: “I Love It.”
