The L.A.-based creative director and entrepreneur Aureta Thomollari gets thousands of Instagram ‘likes’ per day with vibrantly-colored high art and style posts featuring the striking, dark-haired beauty all over the world. Her feed, which is full of the places and objects that inspire her, is wildly entertaining. Thomollari runs an Instagram mini-empire, with her own account (@aureta, with 482,000 followers, as well as the accounts she runs with collaborator Jordan “Watts” Watson (@ love.watts), like @watts.on and @green.couch, totalling over 1.6 million followers and counting.

The jetsetting, Albania-born social media star took a pause in between her travels to Porto Cervo and Capri to talk travel and the best art hotel in world, and open up her suitcase. The secret to looking good on every corner of the globe, according to Thomollari, is to always travel with plenty of pairs of shades.

Where have you been traveling this summer and where are you off to next? It’s been nonstop but last week I was in Porto Cervo, back in LA for a wedding this week and off to Capri, Amalfi, Positano and so on…

Is there a destination you always go to every summer? Somewhere in the Mediterranean.

Favorite airport lounge or restaurant? Lufthansa First Class Terminal in Frankfurt. Besides the food, shower and a great nap that you can have, when it’s time to depart you’ll be collected by the same person who initially greeted you, they’ll escort you to a private passport control, and then drive you across the tarmac to the plane.

Favorite in-flight beauty product? Rose Face Spray.

Name five essential pieces of clothing/accessories that are always in your suitcase: Sunglasses, scarves, jewelry, jacket, and a good platform.

I noticed you are a big fan of sunglasses. How many pairs of sunglasses do you typically travel with? Five pairs.

Name something that always saves you when you are traveling: Sunglasses and accessories in general.

What are three words that describe your personal style aesthetic? I dress based on mood and destination, but signature is no boundaries.

Who or what most inspires your wardrobe these days? My favorite style mavens have to be Tina Chow and Grace Jones. They were both natural, luminous, and daring; ahead of their time, but always at ease with their anachronism. Polar styles, visionary confluence.

What instagram accounts most inspire your wardrobe? @templeofleaves most inspires me—though not necessarily my wardrobe because that’s more based on my emotions.

What fall piece are you currently lusting after? I’m only lusting over jewelry and art, lately.

What’s your favorite hotel in the world? That’s a very hard question. So here are five, not necessarily in order: Villa d’este in Lake Como; Hotel du Cap Eden Roc in Antibes; Amanpuri in Thailand; Belmond Hotel Splendido in Portofino; Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur.

Hotel with the best art in the world? Amangiri. God is the artist.

Favorite off-season destination? Aspen.

Dream destination? Antarctica.
