Last month, Gigi Hadid delighted her fans by eviscerating the controversial YouTuber Jake Paul on Twitter. Perhaps inadvertently, she simultaneously confirmed that her relationship with Zayn Malik was back on again. But as it turns out, Gigi isn’t the only Hadid who’s been palling around with Malik behind the scenes. On Tuesday, Gigi’s little brother, Anwar, revealed that he’s tapped Malik to star in his unisex jewelry line Martyre’s latest campaign.

“Zayn has been a friend for a long time now, and has been very supportive of the brand,” Anwar told W. “We love to create with other artists in a comfortable natural environment, and with Alana O’Herlihy”—Gigi and Bella Hadid’s longtime friend and collaborator—”it was only right to keep it friends and family for this project.”

Martyre campaign star is a role that Anwar himself has filled before. He and the musician Yoni Laham launched Martyre in 2018, though only Anwar appeared in the line’s first campaign. “It made sense, because we were designing with him in mind,” Laham told W last year. “Anwar has a very personal style that isn’t gender-specific. And from the start, we really didn’t have to talk about it being unisex.”

Casting Malik was just the next logical step. He and Gigi have long borrowed each other’s clothes, like an Anna Sui T-shirt that Malik mentioned in an interview with Vogue in 2017. “I like that shirt. And if it’s tight on me, so what? It doesn’t matter if it was made for a girl,” Malik told Gigi, who heartily agreed. So did her brother Anwar, who was tellingly also present: “People our age, we’re just chill. You can be whoever you want, as long as you’re being yourself.”

Over the years, eagle-eyed paparazzi have noticed that Malik also isn’t averse to wearing Gigi’s jewelry, like a cuff by Roxanne Assoulin. He also wears cuffs in the campaign, which was photographed by O’Herlihy, though these ones are, of course, by Martyre. In addition to a number of the label’s signature bands—pieces of sterling silver stamped with “every sinner dies a saint”—Malik also models a number of necklaces, rings, and earrings.

It’s the necklaces, though, that really stand out. And in a way, that’s thanks to Gigi. Her relationship with Malik might be on and off, but Malik’s giant chest tattoo of her eyes is most definitely permanent. (More so than the Birkin her dad, Mohamed Hadid, has emblazoned with one of her sister Bella’s eyes, anyway.)
