In 2006 Justin Timberlake and his childhood buddy Trace Ayala attempted to expand their denim line, William Rast, into a full fashion collection. Retailers didn’t fall as hard for Timberlake as music fans have, and the collection never made it into stores. But in November Timberlake and Ayala announced that they’re getting back on the horse, this time recruiting J. Lindeberg’s Johan and Marcella Lindeberg to design and produce a William Rast contemporary collection. It didn’t take much convincing to get the Lindebergs on board. “Justin is just a really good Southern boy,” Marcella told Women’s Wear Daily, W’s sister publication. “Everyone who meets him just adores him.”
