Are Shia LaBeouf and FKA Twigs Dating?

Sometimes celebrity couples boggle your mind, but then there are times when they make unlikely sense. FKA Twigs and Shia LaBeouf could possibly be in a relationship, which actually feels kind of right. Knowing these two, they could also very well be presenting us with a relationship as a conceptual art piece.

According to the Daily Mail, Twigs responded to their relationship status queries on an intercom—apparently confirmation enough for the Mail to determine that the pair was, in fact, dating, alongside the photos they captured. (“We’re very happy,” she allegedly said via speaker. “We’re having a nice time.” However, the Daily Mail has since removed the section about Twigs speaking through the intercom and now claims a source close to the singer has confirmed their relationship.)

The 32-year-old actor was spotted leaving the London home of the musician Twigs (aka Tahliah Debrett Barnett) on Tuesday as they went grocery shopping together. LaBeouf and Twigs met on the set of LaBeouf’s forthcoming film, Honey Boy, which chronicles LaBeouf’s relationship with his alcoholic dad. In it, the actor Lucas Hedges plays the LaBeouf character.

The publication also confirmed that LaBeouf and his wife, the actress Mia Goth, have split after six years together. In October 2016, they appeared to get married in a spontaneous Las Vegas ceremony officiated by an Elvis impersonator. Later that month, LaBeouf confirmed their nuptials on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, but according to local officials, the couple wasn’t legally married. LaBeouf and Goth first met on the set of Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac; Twigs was previous engaged to the actor Robert Pattinson, in 2015, but the pair split last fall.

LaBeouf has, in the past, staged performance art pieces, including #ELEVATE, for which he live-streamed 24 hours spent in an elevator with a group of people, and #AllMyMovies, in which he was filmed watching every movie he had ever made for three days straight. Twigs is also known for her own dynamic performances at live shows, and even pairing them with art exhibitions, so anything is possible.

Whether they’re together for real or not, this is a relationship that makes all the sense in the world. We can at least appreciate the speculation.
