Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Collection Is Finally Here, and the Results Are Truly Inspiring
Singer and fashion designer Rihanna finally revealed her much-anticipated makeup collection during New York Fashion Week.
The long wait is finally over—Rihanna’s much-anticipated makeup line, Fenty Beauty, has finally arrived.
After posting a teaser on Instagram last week,, the singer, actress and fashion designer unveiled the full collection at a glamorous launch party in Brooklyn during New York Fashion Week on Thursday evening.
The full collection includes highlighters, shimmer sticks and a universal lip gloss. Hector Espinal, a Fenty Global Makeup Artist, explained that Fenty Beauty is for a, “global woman–any culture, any skin tone, any race, any religion, anybody can wear it.” He continued, “The inspiration behind the collection was just reaching out to every single woman in the world, it was really her main focus, how every woman can feel her best.” The brand’s campaign embraced that message, by featuring models Slick Woods, Duckie Thot and Halima Aden.
While the lip gloss has perhaps gotten the most buzz, Espinal explained that “the whole start of the collection is really about complexion.” “We have such a broad spectrum when it comes to the foundation, we have 40 foundations from your lightest person to your deepest person, so anyone can get matched,” he said. “Her biggest memory growing up was how she looked when she did her makeup the first time for a beauty pageant and it was foundation, she really wanted everybody to feel that feeling she felt when she had her first trial.”
Espinal also made it clear that Rihanna’s vision of Fenty Beauty stands alone from her already successful fashion line. “This is her interpretation of beauty. The packaging might be a little rough and edgy, but the actual foundation is actually soft and feminine, it has noting to do with the fashion or music.”
And if we know anything about Rihanna, this is just the beginning of her beauty takeover.
