You may not know Rebecca de Ravenel by name, but you’ve certainly seen her creations. Everyone from Lupita Nyong’o to Lily Aldridge has worn her playful Les Bonbons earrings. Now, she’s launching a collection of colorful, fun handbags for Fall 2017, which are sure to be equally popular.

Last week, the designer celebrated the collection at the Little Cupcake Bakeshop in New York’s Nolita, which had been transformed into a garden of delight of sorts, with bags displayed on cake-stands in lieu of edible treats (it is fashion week, after all). The handbags, which are bright and colorful with hard resin tops and chain straps, were a welcome change from the black and brown-colored bags typically offered for fall. “Designing a Fall/Winter collection comes less naturally to me as I was raised in the Bahamas, hot summer colors are just the way my mind gravitates towards,” she explained. “I think that even though it is a fall collection it still has an island feel that I hope to never shake. My inspiration came from my godfather’s old dinning room in Paris. It was an emerald room from floor to ceiling, and being a little girl was one of the most wonderful things that I had ever seen.”
