When you’re wearing something on your nails that makes everyone grab your hand and demand what it is, you know you’ve found something special. That’s exactly what happened when I wore Ciate’s caviar. It happened again with OPI’s When Monkeys Fly and it’s happening now with Mischo nail polish. Mischo’s colors are so intensely rich and shiny, you like you’ve had a gel manicure, but the polish is actually 5-free—meaning, it doesn’t contain any of the five top controversial ingredients (like formaldehyde and toluene, to name two) many believe to be toxic. Creator Kitiya Mischo King, who developed the line when she was pregnant with her son, calls her debut shades The Fashion Week Collection. Cynics will quickly overlook the cheesy names as soon as they paint the colors on. Neutral lovers must try the dark stone Lincoln Center, divas will love scarlet Front Row, and, well, fashionistas should check out the navy #NYFW and the shimmery pewter Invite Only, but my favorite is the deep sea-blue Empire State of Mind. And my state of mind is that I will share it with no one. Sorry.
