From Kate Middleton to Priyanka Chopra, it seems like everybody wants to be friends with Meghan Markle. And who can blame them? As more and more of these friendships blossom, Markle can now add one more buddy to her A-list posse—Victoria Beckham. One of Beckham’s close friends reportedly told Vanity Fair that the two get along quite well, and have grown closer as friends ever since Markle moved to London last year, just ahead of her engagement to Prince Harry.

In case you were wondering how these two even met in the first place, legend has it that Beckham is the one who introduced Markle to her facialist, Sarah Chapman, a highly sought after London-based aesthetician. Plebeians have to wait at least six months to be seen by Chapman, but Posh Spice reportedly made sure that Markle received the royal treatment just days before her engagement announcement, because that’s what friends are supposed to do when they have connections. “Victoria’s quite proud of the fact that she and Meghan have become chummy and seems to want people to know they are friends,” Beckham’s friend told Vanity Fair.

The pals also share more than just an interest in beauty products and facialists, as Markle has reportedly been in touch with Beckham about developing a new wardrobe, tapping Posh Spice to assist with elevating her usual casual look into something a bit more formal for her upcoming lifetime of royal engagements. “Meghan really likes Victoria’s style and was keen to pick her brains about pulling together a working wardrobe. She loves Victoria’s elegant but smart dresses, so expect her to wear one very soon,” the source revealed.

Even though Victoria Beckham’s sense of style may be influential to Markle (she even wore a Victoria Beckham sweater for her engagement announcement), she probably won’t be designing any wedding dresses any time soon. Still, it makes sense that the two have formed this friendship because, after all, Prince Harry and David Beckham have been buddies for a while, and both of the Beckhams attended the royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011. Really, it was only a matter of time before Markle added Posh to her crew. The Beckhams will likely attend the royal wedding in May, and hopefully Posh Spice returns the favor with some tickets to the potential upcoming Spice Girls reunion. Maybe Markle can even fill in as “Royal Spice” for the London leg of the tour.
