Kim Kardashian Dressed as Cher on Halloween, and Cher Is Likely to Approve
Kim Kardashian West always has legendary Halloween costumes–remember when, in 2015, she dressed up as herself in 2013?–and this year was no exception.
On Friday night, Kardashian channeled the legendary actress and musician Cher on Friday night at the 70s’themed Casamigos Tequila Halloween party, wearing an exact replica of the iconic singer’s look from the 1973 Academy Awards. This wasn’t the first time Kardashian channeled Cher–she channeled the actress and musician for a Harper’s Bazaar Arabia photoshoot earlier this year (Cher approved).
For her costume, Kardashian wore a long wig with a custom-made, two-piece golden bejeweled outfit and purple eye makeup from Kylie Cosmetics, according to People. Accompanying her as Sonny was not Kanye, but rather her longtime friend Jonathan Cheban, AKA “Food God,” in a custom-made suit.
Kardashian posted a video of herself and Cheban having fun prepping for the party by listening to Cher’s hits “Believe” and “I Got You Babe” with the caption “#HallowKKWeen,” various versions of which she used throughout the night. “Our inspo for the night #HalloweKKWeen” accompanied a pic of what looks like a bulletin board of costume ideas. The top row is Sonny and Cher at the Oscars, and below that are stills from Marilyn Monroe’s iconic performance of “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. (Is that a hint to what she’ll wear tonight?)
Once inside the party, “Kardashian West and Cheban were spotted hanging out by the event’s food trucks and the reality star appeared to be in a good mood. She chatted with celebrity real estate agent Jay Luchs, Kelly Sawyer and stylist Estee Stanley. After mingling outside the duo made their way inside the party briefly before making a quick exit,” per People.
And just for good measure, let’s throw it back to the first time she did the Cher thing:
The Casamigos party was the place to see and be seen the night of October 27, attracting everyone from Jon Hamm to Cindy Crawford. Makes sense, since the Casamigos brand was founded by A-listers George Clooney and Rande Gerber. Unfortunately, the real Cher didn’t make an appearance at the soirée, but hey, there’s always next year.
