Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall’s Sex and the City Drama Addressed By Chris Noth
Chris Noth is living up to his Sex and the City name. The actor chose to be the bigger person when asked about the drama between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall that has recently come to light. “Real quick, how would Mr. Big handle this fight between Kim Cattrall and Jessica Parker,” a TMZ writer boldly asks Noth in a video clip posted to the site. Noth doesn’t even need to summon up words for his reply. Instead, he simply rolls up the window in the backseat of a black car—the kind his character seemingly lived in throughout the series—giving the world a new go-to GIF (and what might be the best response ever to TMZ’s street pestering).
For those just tuning in, Cattrall and Parker’s relationship took another turn this past weekend when the actress behind Samantha spoke out about her brother’s sudden death. “I don’t need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker,” read a statement posted to Cattrall’s Instagram. In the caption she elaborated, saying, “My Mom asked me today “When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?” Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.” Cattrall also posted a link to a New York Post story detailing the pair’s fallout, which allegedly began with Cattrall’s “scene-stealing” acting.
Parker has yet to respond to Cattrall’s latest post, but she did tell Andy Cohen earlier this month that she’s “just heartbroken.” “I mean, that whole week, you and I spoke about it endlessly, because I was just, I don’t know, I found it very upsetting, because that’s not the way I recall our experience,” she said. “It’s sad, but I always think that what ties us together is this singular experience. It was a professional experience, but it became personal, because it was years and years of our lives, so I hope that that sort of eclipses anything that’s been recently spoken. That many years spent doing something so special that people had a connection with it is such a privilege.”
Meanwhile, while Cattrall has made it known that she is not up for a third film installment of Sex and the City, Parker has remained optimistic that it could happen without her. “Perhaps, we’ll find a way,” she said in January. “Right now, I don’t know.”
