Kaia Gerber on the New ’90s-Inspired Images Where She Looks Just Like Mom Cindy Crawford
It’s safe to say that Kaia Gerber has had a very good summer. She’s spent the better portion of the warm months at her families home in Canada, hanging out at the beach with mom Cindy Crawford, dad Randy Gerber, and brother Presley Gerber, posting plenty of selfies for her 1.5 million Instagram fans to take in. To cap it off, earlier this week, it was revealed that the model is one of Teen Vogue‘s September issue cover stars. But now need to lament the end of summer—it’s looking like Gerber’s fall is shaping up to be just as great. The on-the-rise model has been named as the face of Hudson Jeans’s Fall 2017 campaign, alongside fellow scion Gabriel-Kane Day-Lewis. The campaign marks Gerber’s first apparel brand campaign, having been named the face of Marc Jacobs beauty last year. The ’90s-esque images recall some of Crawford’s early modeling shots, and were shot by one of the supermodel’s frequent collaborators, Patrick Demarchelier. Here, Gerber talks about working with the famed photographer, what pair of Hudson Jeans she stole from set, and back-to-school fashion.
What was it like shooting with Patrick Demarchelier? Shooting with Patrick was a dream come true for me. I have always admired his work. I had met Patrick years ago before I had any idea I’d get to work with him one day. Seeing him again now that I’m older was really cool.

What is your favorite part about fall fashion? I love fall fashion because you get to layer clothing.
What makes a good pair of denim? For me, there is no one idea of a good pair of denim. The important thing for me is finding a fit that you like and that accentuates your body the best.
What denim trends are you most looking forward to wearing this fall? I’m really looking forward to wearing Hudson’s black jeans with the lace-up front. I got to wear them in the campaign and ended up stealing them from the shoot!
