Jaguar Is Selling the Electric Sports Car Used in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Wedding

For a king’s ransom, of course.

One of the most popular guests from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding will soon be available for a hefty price. (No, not David Beckham.) We’re, of course, referring to the supremely elegant powder-blue Jaguar that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex drove from Windsor Castle to their evening reception at Frogmore House following their nuptials.

According to The Daily Mail, the luxury car manufacturer is planning to sell the E-Type Concept Zero for around $450,000 each after it was “overwhelmed by the positive reaction,” post-wedding. The car runs on electricity, setting it apart from the 1961 original that, as The Daily Mail notes, Enzo Ferrari once called “the most beautiful car in the world.”

According to Jaguar’s official website, the eco-friendly convertible barely makes a sound, even when it’s sprinting to 60 mph in just 5.5 seconds. Eat your heart out, Elon Musk.

So how does one get their hands on this rare machine? Well, because they’re so exclusive, Jaguar will be forgoing the assembly line approach and making them based on “expressions of interest.” In other words, if you hand them a suitcase with half a million dollars in it, they’ll build you the most beautiful electric sports car you’ve ever laid your eyes on.

Unfortunately, if you happen to be the president of the Royal Wedding Reenactment Society and were counting on this as the last piece to your elaborate puzzle—which should already include replicas of Meghan Markle’s Stella McCartney reception dress—you’ll have to wait until 2020 when the car actually becomes available.
