Eminem Came Out of Semi-Retirement With a Scathing Trump Diss Track
Eminem came out of his semi-retirement to diss someone worthwhile. No, it wasn’t Christina Aguilera or Fred Durst. It was the leader of the free world.
The popular rapper, who’s only worked sporadically since his last album dropped in 2013, has released a new freestyle rap that tears into everything related to Donald Trump. Titled “The Storm,” Eminem debuted the track alongside a music video at Tuesday’s BET Hip-Hop Awards, in which he sharply criticized how poorly the president has handled, well, just about everything that’s happened since he assumed the office — including how this “kamikaze that’ll probably cause a nuclear holocaust” reacted in the aftermath of the tragedies in Charlottesville, Puerto Rico, and Las Vegas.
“That’s an awfully hot coffee pot / Should I drop it on Donald Trump? Prob’ly not / But that’s all I got ’til I come up with a solid plot / Got a plan and now I gotta hatch it,” Eminem begins in the first verse, before launching into how grossly inept Trump is at governing. “And while the drama pops / And he waits for sh–t to quiet down he’ll just gas his plane up and fly around ’til the bombing stops / Intensities heightened, tensions are risin’ / Trump, when it comes to giving a s–t, you’re stingy as I am / Except when it comes to having the balls to go against me, you hide ’em.”
The rapper’s charged words didn’t just stop at the confines of the White House, though. He made it clear that if any of his fans support our current president, he’ll literally flip the middle finger and spit at them in retaliation—which, well, is his prerogative. “And any fan of mine / who’s a supporter of his / I’m drawing in the sand a line / you’re either for or against / and if you can’t decide / who you like more and you’re split / on who you should stand beside / I’ll do it for you with this.”
