There was no shortage of star power backstage at Diane von Furstenberg’s Spring 2015 show. Pat McGrath, Orlando Pita, and Michelle Saunders came together to create a Brigitte Bardot-inspired beauty look for a cast of models that included Naomi Campbell, Kendall Jenner, and Candice Swanepoel. For makeup, McGrath went for a smoky eye with deep brown shadows and “tons of mascara.” “We moved away from the winged eyeliner because Diane felt it was a bit retro,” she explained. Saunders complimented the pretty look on the nails by applying two coats of Essie’s sheer Mademoiselle ($8.50, essie.com) on fingers and opaque Fiji ($8.50, essie.com) on toes, noting that sheer nails and opaque toes are one of her favorite trends for spring. Without a teasing comb in sight, Pita crafted voluminous waves by blowdrying Biosilk Volumizing Therapy Root Lifter ($12.50, ulta.com) into the hair with a T3 dryer and applying dry shampoo at the roots. “What looks so cool about Brigitte Bardot is that she had volume but she wasn’t perfectly coiffed,” he said. “She was doing the bedhead before it was even a style.”
