Danielle Corona Likes to Be Hands Free, Wears Backpacks
Danielle Corona, a veteran of the Valentino accessory atelier, has quickly made a name for herself with Hunting Season, a line of bags, belts and small leather goods. The collection’s understated, chic take on luxury is a perfect reflection of her personal style. Here, Corona, whose pieces are are available on Moda Operandi this week, shares the secret to her day-to-night look, her favorite stores, and what’s in her diaper bag.
Define your style in three words: Comfortable, discreet, chic.
Daily uniform: Alexander Wang high waist jeans. I was dying to fit into them after my pregnancy, and now I wont take them off. I rotate blue and black jeans, always paired with my new Hunting Season croc backpack. As a new mom, keeping my hands free is key.
Greatest hits: Slim pants, Yves Saint Laurent blouses, blazers and Prada knits.
Preferred footwear: YSL black ankle boots and Manolo Blahnik Lauratopri suede sandals in all colors.
Finishing touches: Gold Bulgari serpenti watch, which was my wedding gift from my mother-in-law.
Nighttime look: Lately, it has been the same as day, just adding heels and a great crocodile clutch. I make them in every color to never get bored.
Best recent discovery: “The Flashman Papers” by George MacDonald Fraser.
Favorite stores: Bonpoint baby clothes and MOMA for baby toys; Flair Home collection for home accessories and gifts; Dries Van Noten Paris; Casa Chiqui Cartagena
Style pet peeve: Someone with no style.
Style icons: Tilda Swinton and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.
Last purchase: A traditional linen dress I found in Puglia. It’s my new summer uniform.
Lusting after: Pasta Bolognese from Sette Mezzo in New York.
Favorite haunts: La Vitrola Cartagena, Quiebra Canto Salsa Bar, San Ambroues West Village, EN Brasserie NYC.
What’s always in your bag: iPhone 6 plus, Soliel sunscreen, passport, and Honest baby wipes.
