Star Wars Actress Daisy Ridley Is Back and Brighter Than Ever
The Star Wars heroine stood out in a bold Stella McCartney look at a panel discussing the new sequel, The Last Jedi.
Now that the dust from Fast and Furious 8 has cleared, it’s time for a new action epic to take center stage. The new Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, isn’t even premiering till December, but already its cast has stepped back into the limelight, releasing a new trailer and discussing the upcoming sequel as part of a Star Wars convention down in Orland, Florida. As might be expected from such a franchise, the cast was relatively tight-lipped about the details of the sequel — but more than any tidbits they delivered during the panel, it was their looks that stood out. Billie Lourd, daughter of the late Carrie Fisher, wore a white Tom Ford look in tribute to her mother’s character, Princess Leia (and, at the same time, flouting all convention by wearing white before Memorial Day). And Daisy Ridley, the star of the show as the new Star Wars heroine Rey, opted for a red and orange Stella McCartney ensemble, standing out next to her more monochromatically inclined co-stars John Boyega and Mark Hamill, the original Luke Skywalker, who reprises his role in the new series.
Who: Daisy Ridley.
When: Friday, April 14.
Where: The Star Wars: The Last Jedi panel at the Star Wars convention in Orlando, Florida.
What: A red silk top and orange skirt by Stella McCartney with Louboutin heels, a coral-colored lip, and dark nails.
Why: In two-toned silk, Ridley’s top-and-skirt ensemble is power-clashing at its understated best. She tops it off with coordinating red suede heels; it might have been a year and a half since her last film in the franchise premiered, but in one look, the Star Wars actress is proving she’s back in action on the red carpet and on screen.
