Chrissy Teigen’s Plastic Surgery Admission: Calm Down, She Was Just Joking

Despite reports to the contrary, Chrissy Teigen was only joking when she admitted to extensive facial plastic surgery.

Chrissy Teigen is known for both her playful sense of humor and a penchant for being open and honest. Unfortunately, when she recently quipped about extensive plastic surgery, some weren’t sure if it was a case of a joke or an outright admission.

The 31-year-old model is currently in promotion mode for her first foray into cosmetics, a highlighter kit called the Becca X Chrissy Glow Face Palette. At an event last night with beauty journalists and industry insiders, Teigen mentioned that some people always assumed her trademark cheeks were implants.

“Everything about me is fake except my cheeks,” the model quipped. She then pointed to her forehead, her nose, her lips: “Fake, fake, fake.” And while some outlets like Byrdie pointed out she made the remarks “with a laugh,” the joke went over some of their heads and they assumed the model was admitting to an almost total surgical facial reconfiguration.

Of course, some of the confusion came from the fact that Teigen did admit to one weird real cosmetic procedure during the event.

“I had my armpit sucked out.” Teigen said. “It added two inches of length to my arms.”

“I’m not shy talking about that sort of thing,” she added. “I have no regrets.”

The assertion that almost “everything” about her “face is fake” quickly spread around the Internet, but luckily Teigen, a power Twitter user, is quite familiar with how the internet works and shut down the misunderstanding with some additional jokes.

“Reminder to never ever joke, ever (I did do the armpits, no regrets except it clearly came back),” she wrote in one Tweet.

“You think I’d have this ass if I’d done extensive work? Like who would ask for this ass,” she wrote in another.

It’s also worth noting that Allure points out that at the same event she said, “Women are like, ‘those fake-ass cheeks,’ and I’m like, No! This is my real face.”

So there you have it, nothing major about Teigen is fake. That is the face she was born with (not that it would be that big of a deal if it wasn’t). And her armpits may or may not be a tiny bit more svelte than they would be naturally.
