Cardi B Thanks All Her “Haters” After Winning Best New Artist at the iHeartRadio Awards

She actually cackled at them.

At the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2018, it was clearly Cardi B’s night (even Justine Skye said so): She kicked off the night with a montage performance of her greatest hits (a first for a new artist?), sat in the audience looking like a princess ballerina, and took home the award for Best New Artist. But perhaps the moment her star shone brightest was when she took the stage to accept her award and delivered a memorable acceptance speech that only Cardi could.

Cardi kicked things off in typical acceptance speech fashion—by thanking those closest to her—but did so with her own Cardi flair. “I want to thank a lot of people because a lot of people helped me with my success, so here it goes okurrr,” she started. The laundry list of people included her publicist, her team, her label, her family, her fiancé, and her fans (all the standards)—but true to Cardi B style, she didn’t stop there. The best—and most GIF-worthy moment—came when Cardi B addressed her “haters.”

“I want to thank my haters,” she said to the crowd, before breaking out in a cackling laughter like the Wicked Witch of the West. “They be downloading my stuff so they can hear and talk crap about it—but it benefits me. Hahaha!”

And all of Cardi B’s “haters” are most likely eating their words currently, as her Best New Artist win capped off an awards season where Cardi consistently stole the show, whether she was performing or not. From her showstopping performance of “Bodak Yellow” at the MTV VMAs back in August to becoming the first solo woman rapper to earn a Grammy nod for Best Rap performance to slaying on every red carpet, Cardi looks to be winning over the masses fast and furious—and might not have any haters left after tonight.
