Brie Larson Just Happened to Stumble Into Kylie Jenner’s Met Gala Bathroom Selfie
Brie Larson ended up in Kylie Jenner’s already-iconic Met Gala mirror selfie on Monday because she just “needed to go to the bathroom.”
Brie Larson was included in Kylie Jenner‘s already-iconic (but forbidden) bathroom mirror selfie at the 2017 Met Gala on Monday night, but it was a total accident.
The Room star reposted the star-studded picture—in which she’s sticking her head over model Slick Woods‘ shoulder and looking simultaneously thrilled and confused about how she ended up there—on her Instagram and Twitter accounts with the caption, “I needed to go to the bathroom and ended up famous.”
The rule-breaking photo (there’s technically a no-selfie rule at the Met Gala) already has nearly 3 million likes on Jenner’s Instagram account and features an apparently gender-neutral bathroom crammed with some of Hollywood’s best and brightest, including Jenner and her sisters Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian, as well as Paris Jackson, Frank Ocean, Lily Aldridge, P. Diddy, and A$AP Rocky.
Larson’s fans were equally excited about her stumbling into the glamorous scene, with one Twitter user recaptioning the photo, “Academy Award winning actress Brie Larson surrounded by fans,” and another appreciating the star’s authenticity.
Outside the bathroom, Larson stunned on the Met Gala red carpet next to fiancé Alex Greenwald in a multitiered gold-and-silver Chanel Haute Couture dress with a plunging V-neck and Empire waist detailing. She also wore gold leaf in her hair and faux pearls glued onto her winged eyeliner.
Although Larson, undoubtedly, made a few new friends in that cramped bathroom, she recently opened up to Vanity Fair about the group of famous women she leans on the most, which includes Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence, and Amy Schumer. “That [group] saved my life,” she said. “I was able to talk with them about everything that was going on in my life, and it was with people who had been through it before and are also hilarious. That support and acceptance was everything.”
We’re now keeping our fingers crossed for a bathroom selfie from that famous squad.
