Beyoncé Released a New Song to Benefit Hurricane Victims

Just three months after giving birth, Beyoncé is already gracing her fans with new music. Her first post-baby track is a remix of the J Balvin and Willy William song “Mi Gente,” and most importantly, all proceeds from the song will go to help hurricane victims.

“I am donating my proceeds from this song to hurricane relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the other affected Caribbean islands,” Beyoncé wrote on an Instagram post featuring a clip of the remix. She also included a link to a page on her site devoted to helping the victims of all the hurricanes that caused devastation in the past few months, including Harvey and Irma, which caused devastating damage in Texas and Florida, respectively.

“We’re heartbroken by the hurricanes and earthquakes that have devastated families around the world,” the post begins, before including links to various charities leading relief efforts. “There are many ways to help. We’ve listed a few organizations that are on the ground from Mexico to the Caribbean, lending a hand to those who need it most.”

The rest of the Knowles-Carter family is also reaching out to those affected by the hurricanes. Jay Z’s Tidal streaming service will be sending a cargo plane packed with essential supplies (like water and batteries) to Puerto Rico next week, according to E!. The company will also be hosting a benefit concert on October 17 to help not only hurricane victims but also those affected by the massive earthquake that hit Mexico City. Musicians including Jennifer Lopez, Iggy Azalea, Remy Ma, Willow Smith, and Jay Z himself will take the stage to raise money for the millions affected by these natural disasters who are still struggling to live without electricity or access to needed supplies.
