Bella Hadid Wished Kendall Jenner a Happy Birthday By Recalling a Fight They Once Had

It can be hard to pick the right photo and sentiment to wish your bestie a happy birthday on social media. Do you go with an inside joke? A hilarious throwback photo to remind them how far they’ve come? This year, Bella Hadid went a more unconventional route to celebrate Kendall Jenner’s birthday on Instagram—by posting a photo of the two friends mid-fight.

“This is a real life picture that @sweetboydaniel took of kj and I yelling at each other but we made up 5 minutes later so it’s all good,” Hadid captioned a blurry photo of the friends having it out, according to The Sun. It might not seem like the most obvious way to celebrate a friendship or a birthday, but really it makes a lot of sense: these two women have a strong enough bond to withstand a callback to a fight.

Hadid included some more traditional birthday messages to mark Jenner’s 22nd year, as well. In the same Instagram story, the model shared smiling selfies of the pair, writing, “Kung Fu Kenny. This laugh of yours can light up ANY room and make everybody smile from ear to ear! I wish I was with you today but I know we will celebrate together soon and our friends are taking great care of you I love you!! Happy birthday my beautiful KaJe.”

Though Jenner is separated from her friend for her birthday, she’s still found a way to celebrate in a big way: by kicking off a fundraising campaign for Charity Water. “To celebrate my birthday i’m raising money for @charitywater, & i’d be so grateful if you joined me,” Jenner tweeted out with a link to the website for the nonprofit, which helps communities in poverty gain access to clean, safe water.” In less than a day her birthday fundraising page has already raised over $29,000.
