Sorry, Taylor Swift: Bella Hadid Is Officially a Member of Alexander Wang’s Bad Girl Squad
It really was only a matter of time until Bella Hadid was inducted to the fashion community’s reigning squad of bad girls: the Alexander Wang gang.
While older sister Gigi Hadid has the California blonde thing on lock, Bella has always been the slightly edgier, moodier little sister. Let’s look at the facts. In one corner, we have Gigi’s cherubic cheeks, bright blue eyes, Disney prince-esque pop-star boyfriend and Maybelline commercials. And then there’s Bella, she of countless leather jackets, a DUI, and a new nipple piercing she’s not afraid to show off. She’s the Veronica to Gigi’s Betty; the Christina to her Britney.
So while Gigi’s a card-carrying member of Taylor Swift’s squad, it just never made sense that Bella would join her (especially now, with the Selena Gomez-sized elephant in the room).

While Swift and co. keep their get-togethers under wraps, save for highly curated Instagram images filled with cats and freshly baked cookies, Wang’s crew is fueled by cigarettes, champagne, and general debauchery–we’ve all seen the ad campaigns and been to the afterparties. So while Gigi’s Tommy Hilfiger extravaganza was the wholesome, sun-kissed Coachella of fashion week, on Saturday night, all the way in Harlem, Bella found a crew of her very own, amidst a dilapidated old theater repurposed as a Peroni-filled moshpit.
Bella joined perennial Wang girls Hanne Gaby Odiele, Anna Ewers, Binx Walton, Issa Lish, Catherine McNeil, and Lexi Boling, as well as Gigi’s best friend, Kendall Jenner–lest you forget she has a nipple ring of her own. Dressed in a graphic t-shirt with micro leather shorts and perfectly smudged eyeliner, Bella fit right in with the crew, making the crowd question out loud how it had taken her this long to land on the Wang runway.
Also taking to the designer’s catwalk for the first time: Fernanda Beuker, Nina Milner, Sohyun Jung, Maeve Whalen, Aleece Wilson, Kennah Lau, and EZ, who closed the show with a memorable peroxide blonde pixie cut. All together now: #SquadGoals.
