There’s no denying the wave of normcore that has washed over the fashion industry. Many street style stars are wearing simple, low-key off-the-rack basics from brands like Nili Lotan, Equipment, and Apiece Apart. Others are lusting after fast fashion pieces from COS, Zara, and GAP. The fancy, fussy world of lingerie, however, has been fairly untouched. (Take a look at Victoria’s Secret’s embellished wings for proof.) Until now. Acne Studios’s Creative Director Jonny Johansson is taking a design note from Hanes with a collection of ultra basic, minimally labeled cotton briefs for both men and women that debuts later this week. “Underwear should be beige or skin-colored,” explained Johansson, “because I prefer no underwear.”
