From the Oscars to Milan Fashion Week, Armani Had Quite a Night

Roughly 12 hours after Oscar nominee Isabelle Huppert and history-making Oscar winner Viola Davis ruled the red carpet at the 2017 Academy Awards in Armani Privé, designer Giorgio Armani closed Milan Fashion Week’s fall 2017 with an elegant bang. Dog-adorned sweaters, hairy green capes, bright red fur coats, and cuffs and collars practically exploding in exaggerated ruffles mixed with more classic, streamlined takes on suiting, from double-breasted tweed blazers to plain separates in a simple black. There were plenty of deep blues among the usually muted palette, too, but it wasn’t the bold hues that tied it all together so much as the miniature bowler hat atop each model’s head, save a few mops of curls and Armani’s take on a flower crown: a daisy-adorned beret.
