William Eggleston caused an uproar among critics when he dared to show color photographs at MoMA back in 1976. Since then, the American photographer’s pictures have become canon. His new exhibition at London’s National Portrait Gallery features familiar faces like Dennis Hopper in ’70s and Joe Strummer in the ’80s, as well as his work in the present-day.
