Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford Tell the Truth

by Emilia Petrarca

Cate Blanchett

On Wednesday night, Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford attended the New York premiere of their new film, Truth, which is based on former CBS producer Mary Mapes’s 2005 memoir “Truth and Duty: The Press, The President And The Privilege Of Power.” They were joined by co-stars Dennis Quaid, John Benjamin Hickey and Dermot Mulroney; director James Vanderbilt; Dan Rather; and Mary Mapes herself. The film, which premiers October 16th, tells the story of CBS’s controversial investigation into President George W. Bush’s time in the Texas National Guard. With election season picking up again, Truth strikes a chord even ten years later—a reality that caused all journalists present to indulge at the after party.
