Where There Is Smoke

by Kat Herriman

Katie Stout and Sean Herstley’s pipe and ashtray

While cannabis and the creative set are longstanding partners, it is rare that the two meet during work hours. In the past, artists like Kenny Scharf, Piero Golia, and Eric Doeringer have made water-pipes and ashtrays as unique one-off projects, but this fall, eclectic smokers can look forward to Tetra, a boutique dedicated to their accessory needs. Started by a trifecta of female creatives including Site Unseen founder Monica Khemsurov, Tetra hopes to elevate marijuana’s place in the home by collaborating with artists and designers on smoking paraphernalia that is functional, but also pleasing to the eye. Interspersed with vintage finds, these unique projects are making an aesthetic case for legalization. Here are 10 editions to score now.
