Simone Rocha’s Model Militants Come Bearing Flowers
Showgoers have officially made their way from New York to London Fashion Week, which Simone Rocha kicked off this weekend with a rougher turn than usual: a military-inspired fall 2017 collection that still took a few nods from her usual ethereal offerings. Last season’s bloomers and Peter Pan collars gave way to olive green, big-shouldered trenches, while tulle floral dresses were topped off with leather cross-body belts. But, as Rocha showcased earlier this month with her new, Louise Bourgeois-filled New York store, she’s also not afraid of some more conventional femininity, which came through this time around on the runway in red rose-adorned organzas topped off with armfuls of faux fur.
