Miuccia Prada Is Attempting to Reverse the Tiny Sunglasses Trend
Milan Fashion Week started on Tuesday, but it didn’t really kick off until Thursday, when Miuccia Prada sat fashion’s brightest peacocks down on an army of blow-up chairs of the sort they probably had in their childhood bedrooms. Though they probably weren’t located in the halls of the Fondazione Prada, where the designer showcased Prada’s spring/summer 2019 very primary school-friendly collection, complete with tie-dyed pleated skirts, buttoned-up dress shirts and pea coats, and sheer knee-highs, stamped with the house’s signature triangle. Not that everything, of course, was so dress code-friendly: for every silky oversized headband, there was another one covered in studs, or at the very least a pair of sunglasses large enough to easily obscure half of a model’s entire face. (That’s right, Toto: We definitely aren’t in The Matrix anymore.) Take it all in up-close with a look behind the scenes, here.
