Power Rangers: A Fashionable, Fall 2017 Makeover For Every Color
Nineties nostalgia hits an all-time high today, as Power Rangers, the new feature film based on the 1993 hit television series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers gets a nationwide release. Of course, its not a proper Hollywood remake without some edgy, modern updates. Case in point: the Yellow Power Ranger (played by former teen pop-star Becky G) is sexually fluid, the Pink Power Ranger laments over texting out nude pictures of her former best friend, and there is a whole plotline centered around Krispy Kreme product placement. Simply put: this isn’t the Power Rangers you thought you knew. Also getting a makeover? Their iconic, monochromatic uniforms. Gone are the spandex onesies of years past, and in their place, warrior-like armor, though still staying true to the original color schemes. It’s an improvement, for sure, but not necessarily the most sartorially advanced. In honor of the new Power Rangers, we’ve given all of the rangers from the film a few options—in their color of choice, of course—should they want to push the fashion needle even further.
