Pitchfork Music Festival Paris Is a Masterclass in Autumn Street Style, the Way Only French Kids Can Pull Off
Only one of the three buildings that composed the Grande Halle de la Villette, a cast iron and glass slaughterhouse complex situated on the outskirts of Paris in the 19th arrondissement, survived its decommissioning in the mid-1970s. By 1985, La Villette had reopened as a cultural center, where it’s hosted dance companies, theater productions, and, each October, the Parisian spinoff of the Pitchfork Music Festival, which also occurs each July at Chicago’s Union Park. This year’s Pitchfork Paris boasts a lineup to rival its American counterpart — including on-the-verge acts like Whitney, Abra, and Porches, and established favorites like Parquet Courts, Bat For Lashes, and Warpaint — and the street style game to match. Patterns, textures, and pops of primary color abound, especially in the outerwear department, paired together in a way that only chic French kids could pull off.
