Coming off their recent appointment as creative directors at Oscar de la Renta, there couldn’t be a hotter pair of designers at New York Fashion Week than Monse‘s Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia. They had to move locations to ArtBeam to accommodate demand to see their show, which in the end drew de la Renta ceo Alex Bolen, Christina Ricci, Zosia Mamet and Iris Apfel. The spring collection, sponsored by The Ritz-Carlton Rewards Credit Card, was set to the soundtrack of Stranger Things and featured their signature manipulations of men’s shirting plus gowns, shorts, and shirts literally dripping in sequins.
