Against a backdrop of black-and-white scenes by the director David O. Russell and atop an industrial steel mesh structure in Milan, Miuccia Prada showed her brand’s spring 2017 show on Thursday – which also made for a recap of her colorful tenure at the house over the last few decades. New, Space Age-interpretations of her greatest hits – minimal black dresses, bold handbags, and a riot cacophonous prints – showed up again and again on the designer’s cast of sleek-haired models, embellished with marabou feathers and an Italian take on the barely-there hemlines Marc Jacobs also showcased in New York.
