Met Gala 2017: Inside All of the After Parties With Rihanna, Madonna and More
When it comes to the Met Gala, the party doesn’t stop after the museum doors close. In fact, depending on who you ask, that’s just when the night begins. After a performance by Katy Perry, the red carpet debut of two hot new couples, and countless bathroom selfies, celebrities once again descended upon the famous Metropolitan Museum of Art stairs, making a mad dash for the cars and a quick change into something more party-friendly, and maybe a quick power nap—or Red Bull. It was a long night, after all. For most, the first stop was The Standard, where Katy Perry co-hosted the hotel’s eighth annual party, which brought out Dakota Johnson, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, Kate Hudson, and Elle Fanning, among others. There was also a smaller, more refined affair at the National Academy Museum, in honor of the night’s honoree, Rei Kawakubo. But it wasn’t until 2 a.m. that the real party started, with Rihanna throwing her own bash at 1 Oak with Perrier-Jouët, Absolut Elyx, and Avion Tequila.
