The 10 Instagram Accounts to Follow During London Fashion Week, From New It Girls to a New Princess
As the Spring 2018 season migrates from New York to London, it brings with it a whole new crop of It girls to follow on Instagram. Whether musicians like Charli XCX, Aluna Francis of AlunaGeorge, and Jessie Ware, models like Naomi Shimada and Edie Campbell’s younger sister Olympia, or actresses like up-and-comer Hermione Corfield and new Princess Jasmine Naomi Scott, there’s no dearth of British talent appearing in the front row at London Fashion Week. Here, we highlight the top 10 accounts you should have on your radar to keep up to date with all the antics on the runway and behind the scenes during London Fashion Week Spring 2018.
1Charli XCX
Fresh off her viral “Boys” music video and about to embark on a North American tour supporting Halsey, Charli XCX has also been making time for fashion month. In New York, she was spotted front-row at Marc Jacobs, and over in London, she’s already slated for an appearance at Topshop Unique—a show that’s regularly the first stop of all the coolest front row stars.
2Naomi Scott
Power Rangers actress Naomi Scott has already made her way to J.W.Anderson’s Spring 2018 show, and it’s just the second day of London Fashion Week. The 24-year-old native Londoner, who is also an accomplished musician as well as the new Princess Jasmine in Disney’s Aladdin remake, is also a savvy fashion insider: With the help of stylist Zadrian Smith, she’s worn Chanel, Burberry, and Armani, and she’s likely to be making the rounds of only the coolest shows this fashion week. Her dispatches from London Fashion Week are just one of the reasons she’s amassed 263,000 followers.
3Aluna Francis
Aluna Francis, the frontwoman and vocalist for the electronic duo AlunaGeorge, is certainly a familiar face at New York Fashion Week: This year alone, she appeared front-row at Helmut Lang Seen By Shayne Oliver, Area, and 3.1 Phillip Lim, and then managed to put in an appearance at the Calvin Klein party (where she met up with Beyoncé protégées Chloe and Halle Bailey); she previously also made her way to Alexander Wang and Rag & Bone. But she’s no less one to follow back on home turf, broadcasting her antics (with a few of her fellow It Brit friends) to an audience of 142,000.
4Olympia Campbell
The younger sister of Edie Campbell, model Olympia Campbell comes from a family strong in fashion, and she’ll likely be spotted just as frequently on the runway as off it. But she’s also notable for her no-holds-barred Instagram presence—after all, her bio reads “Vagina Vagina Vagina,” pulled from an aptly titled Naomi Wolf story—where, most recently, she documented the joint birthday party she threw with Edie. The name? “Absolute Filth.” (So it was fitting that Edie printed “Filth” across her bare chest in lieu of a top.)
5Millie Bobby Brown
While you’re waiting for Stranger Things to return, settle for 13-year-old Millie Bobby Brown’s Instagram. The young actress also happens to, very casually, be best friends with Calvin Klein designer Raf Simons—but, even thought the Brit native was raised in Florida, we’re anticipating seeing her making the rounds in London this season.
6Hermione Corfield
Last season, 23-year-old actress Hermione Corfield was spotted front row at Burberry, Christopher Kane, and Erdem. In the meantime, she’s been working on multiple screen projects—including Slaughterhouse Rulez with Asa Butterfield and Bees Make Honey with Alice Eve—but there’s little doubt the up-and-coming star is going to be back in the front row for Spring 2018.
7Jessie Ware
Jessie Ware is a London Fashion Week veteran and a regular at the Unique show. She just announced her third album, Glasshouse, so watch the British singer’s account for not only dispatches from the front row, but also backstage antics. (She and Sampha, for example, are pretty tight.)
8Jess Glynne
Jess Glynne is a superstar back in her native United Kingdom—she boasts 512,000 Instagram followers—but she’s perhaps less known on American shores. (Even though, two years ago, she won a Grammy for Best Dance Recording.) She’s working on new material with Ed Sheeran (no word yet on whether that will earn her a Game of Thrones cameo), but naturally also making time for London Fashion Week, where her crown of red curls makes her instantly recognizable in the front row.
9Naomi Shimada
Naomi Shimada’s Instagram is a romp. The model-slash-activist-slash-documentarian is also a front-row regular with an eye for up-and-comers (catch her at shows like Topshop Unique and Fashion East, the incubator for London Fashion Week’s next stars), and she meticulously documents her looks to the pleasure of her nearly 46,000 followers.
10Rebecca Corbin Murray
Uber-stylist Rebecca Corbin Murray is perhaps best known as the stylist to Kaya Scodelario, Emma Watson, and Lily James (herself an It girl to follow during London Fashion Week), which, as her more-than-41,000 followers know, makes her Instagram the perfect account for keeping tabs on the whereabouts of London Fashion Week’s best-dressed stars.
