Lil Yachty Steals the Show at Nautica Fall 2017
The 19-year-old Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty was recently appointed Creative Director of the nautical-themed American brand, Nautica. So, naturally, he made an appearance at the fall 2017 presentation during New York Fashion Week: Men’s on Wednesday — promptly stealing the show. All eyes were on him and his signature red hair and diamond sailboat chain, but the collection itself was a dramatic departure from seasons past. In an attempt to appeal to a younger consumer, not only has the brand appointed an inexperienced teenager, but also returned to an archival ’90s, hip-hop influenced style.
