LONDON MEN'S

Inside the Candy-Colored Acid Trip That Was Topman Fall 2017

Photographs by Jake Hateley

When you combine ’70s ravers, ’90s skaters, a dense array of references to London’s punks and bricklayers, puns, riffs on brand logos, and a dizzying, candy-colored palette, you get Topman’s eclectic, acid-fueled Fall 2017 collection during the London men’s shows. Sweatshirts emblazoned with slogans like “The Shite Elephant” and windbreakers in patches of chartreuse, fuchsia, peach, and electric orange punctuated the occasional plaid wool overcoats and waistcoats; knitwear looking fit to come apart at the seams topped off pleated trousers paired with white trainers. No one got the memo about bucket hats.
