Deconstructing the Gucci Beauty Look
The Gucci spring campaign came out Monday and had us swooning all over again for its Berlin-inspired languor. But its the Christiane F.-inspired beauty look, executed by Paul Hanlon and Yadim, that really had us gagging. But how to look like one of Alessandro Michele’s bohemian babes? A brief primer:
1
1. Air-dry, always.
Rebel against a do’ that’s done, and vibe with your natural hair texture like Paul Hanlon did backstage at the Gucci show.

2. Conceal less.
Take a backstage tip from Yadim at Jason Wu and, “put a little concealer only on blemishes. If there’s redness, or a little bit of tiredness around the eyes, it’s kind of cool.”

3. Grease those lids.

4. Let your pout go nude, or dark.
Join the house of Pat McGrath and pass the trendy red lip for a plum, or keep in natural with a nude. The result? A look that’s “captivating and fresh, with an intriguing edge” says McGrath.

5. Don’t match your lips and tips.
Clash like a cool-girl with a dark nail to offset a nude lip, or enhance the drama of a dark one.
