The secret to a jet set hairstyle, is that it has to be glamorous without being too polished. To create these four styles, celebrity hairstylist Sam McKnight drew inspiration from the 1970s feathered Farrah Fawcett ’do. “I started with a proper, old-fashioned blow-dry, and then destroyed it a bit,” he explains. The first order of business was to lop off model Stella Lucia’s bangs at nose level. Next, he teased in some volume with the help of his new Hair by Sam McKnight Modern Hairspray. “Ideally, you want to look like you left the salon three days ago and have been riding around in an open-top car,” McKnight says. To that end, he separated Lucia’s locks into sections, misted them with Cool Girl, his ultralight texturizer, and artfully mussed it all up. “I love big hair,” says the stylist. “It’s sexy, healthy, and never goes out of fashion.”
