Diane Kendal, Ajak Deng

A bright idea for fall: Makeup pro Diane Kendal turns the spotlight on one feature—a bold lid, a glittery pout, or a bejeweled lash line—and makes it a star.

Rosy Outlook

“I love a two-tone combination,” says Kendal, who creates winning runway looks for Alexander Wang, Thakoon, and Jason Wu. Here, she painted lids carnation pink, then coated them with eyelash glue before dusting on red glitter.

Loud Mouth

Tiny paillettes in varied shades of red give the illusion of depth. “The lips are ostentatious,” says Kendal. “But with a bare face, the look is pure and beautiful.” For a more wearable take, try shimmery Ciaté Glitz Fix.

Blue Streak

Kendal topped royal blue greasepaint makeup with navy glitter for a dark lip that’s more glam than goth. To create a perfect backdrop, she prepped skin with Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrè and then used Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick in Golden Almond.

Fringe Benefits

Though eyelash glue is designed to adhere false lashes to lids, it has myriad applications. Kendal painted the tips of the lashes with the glue before dipping them into pink glitter.

A Fine Line

“I made a cat’s eye with black rhinestones that are so tiny they are like glossy liner,” Kendal says. For the high-shine mouth, she applied MAC Clear Lipglass over Tom Ford Lip Color in Bruised Plum.
