It’s no wonder Outlander star Caitriona Balfe is a red carpet natural—the actress spent years modeling for the likes of Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana. Balfe showed off her chops last fall at a dinner for Tod’s Creative Director Alessandra Facchinetti dressed a chic navy cape, leather pants, and cool open-toed boots.

Balfe drew on her model past again for the 2015 BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party, straddling the line between chic and casual in an easy Cameo jumpsuit and pointed Stuart Weitzman pumps.

A Golden Globes party called for something a bit more dramatic, and Balfe delivered in a sheer striped Elisabetta Franchi dress, Aquazzura shoes, vintage House of Lavande earrings, and a Jimmy Choo clutch.

But Balfe’s wardrobe is more than chic capes and black gowns—the actress heated things up at an event in L.A. with a crimson House of CB jumpsuit and Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals.

And chose another jumpsuit—this time a black one from Bottega Veneta, paired with Stuart Weitzman shoes and Vita Fede jewelry—for the 2015 PaleyFest.

Balfe really shined at the SAG Awards, where she accessorized her creamsicle-colored Solace dress with red lips and coordinating Gianvito Rossie shoes and a Rodo clutch.

A plum Roland Mouret dress and Halston Heritage clutch were just the ticket for the mid-season premiere of Outlander in New York…

But her best look came at the IFTA Film & Drama Awards, a long, perfectly fitted Orla Kiely dress.

Balfe mimicked the look at the opening night gala of the Edinburgh International Film Festival, adding a light clutch and thick black sandals.

But like all models, Balfe knows that sometimes it’s okay to keep things simple.
