Before Beyoncé, Sisqo, or even Sir Mix-a-Lot, the most eloquent connoisseurs of a fine derriere were Rubens, Velazquez, and Michelangelo, who liked a man’s muscular bottom as much as anyone (except Robert Mapplethorpe, of course). And at the crush of art openings this month in New York, no matter where you looked it was hard to miss it—the butt is back. Here are four artists you can really get behind.
