Audrey Hepburn and Hubert de Givenchy’s Iconic Fashion Moments In Film: A Look Back
It was announced today that Hubert de Givenchy, the fashion designer and iconic founder of the Givenchy house, had passed away at the age of 91. The famed designer leaves behind a legacy of elegant evening-wear, worn by such stylish women as Jackie Kennedy, Princess Grace of Monaco, the Duchess of Windsor, Jane Fonda, and Marlene Dietrich. Of course, there was no one who wore de Givenchy’s designs quite like Audrey Hepburn,, his long-standing friend and muse. Over the course of their relationship, the actress donned his designs on numerous occasions, both on-screen and off—and most indelibly, in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, when Holly Golightly walks up Fifth Avenue in the early morning in a little black dress. Here, to commemorate Givenchy’s enduring legacy, a look back at some of the most iconic cinematic moments of Hepburn wearing Givenchy on film.
