A Look at the Late Actor Anton Yelchin’s Undiscovered Photography, Which Even Former Co-stars Like Kristen Stewart Are Only Now Seeing

It’s been 12 years since Kristen Stewart appeared in a film with Anton Yelchin, and nearly a year and a half since the late actor’s untimely death at just 27, but on Wednesday night, the actress joined more of Yelchin’s former costars like Bryce Dallas Howard—and his family—in heading to Chelsea to take in the 54 photographs that make up “Anton Yelchin: Provocative Beauty,” a new exhibition up at New York’s De Buck Gallery through January 20, 2018. And while the photos on display were taken over a six-year period on both a Leica and a sizable number of disposable cameras—and some were even shown late last year—it wouldn’t be surprising if many of those attending the opening, close to Yelchin as they were, didn’t know he was also a photographer; while the actor was of course often publicly in front of the camera, he didn’t tell too many that he was also often behind one, honing his photography skills in between playing roles like Pavel Chekov in Star Trek and starring in the indie favorite Charlie Bartlett. Now finally available for viewing, the images serve as a poignant reminder of just how talented Yelchin was. Take a glimpse, here.
