154 natural pearls. 102 carats of Colombian emeralds. A 134-carat, oval-shaped Ceylon sapphire. The jewels in now-retired French designer Alexandre Reza’s pieces are not for those afraid of big numbers—or big statements. And so, it is with an over-the-top exhibition at Sotheby’s that his son Olivier Reza, who now designs the collection, honors his father’s work. See a few of the pieces here.

“The Extraordinary Jewelry of Alexandre Reza” will be open to the public from November 2-14, 2013, at Sotheby’s New York, 1334 York Avenue.
