Meet the Real Petit Punks of Paris
Finnish designer Tuomas Merikoski of Aalto International took to the streets of Paris this season in order to find the city’s true originals to model in his Resort 2017 lookbook. Titled Uusi Fantasia or “New Fantasy,” the collection, which he recently showed at Paris Fashion Week, was inspired by youth culture — hence the many nostalgic references to Scandinavia’s favorite cartoon character, Moomin. This is only Aalto’s second season in Paris, yet Merikoski was shortlisted for the LVMH Prize this year for his genderless, punk-inspired designs. Meet his grungy teen muses and see the entire collection, here.
