Pride-Ready Clothes at Lanvin’s Spring 2017 Menswear Show
The guys on the runway at Lanvin’s spring 2017 menswear show could have walked directly into New York City’s pride parade on Sunday and blended in just fine. A handful of rainbow-striped t-shirts peaked out from jaunty suits in subtle plaid, or from beneath a luxe leather trench coat. Elsewhere, arrow-shaped emblems were the main motif, attached to belts or rope necklaces. And even if all that didn’t intrigue the front row, the outwear certainly would: satin bombers, oversized parkas, the aforementioned trench. It’s not surprising, given that the house’s menswear designer, Lucas Ossendrijver, is celebrating a decade at Lanvin this year. Meanwhile, Bouchra Jarrar will show her debut women’s collection for the brand this fall. Here’s hoping she delivers something just as enticing.
